An engagement session is a photography session with the couple that usually takes place a few months before the wedding.  Usually shot in a casual setting, an engagement session is a unique opportunity to capture the romance and intimacy of the couple, without any of the pressures of the wedding day.

If you plan to display the photographs from your engagement session at your wedding, you should plan to do the session no less than three months prior to your wedding day.

An engagement shoot is a two-hour photo session, set at the location of your choice.

The bridal session is a photography shoot with the bride alone. It typically takes place a few months before the wedding. The purpose of the bridal session is to illustrate the elegance and beauty of the bride, in a private, relaxed setting.  Many brides choose to wear their gowns for this session and use the session as a “test run” to verify that the accessories, hairstyle and makeup that they’ve chosen complement their dress.

If you would like to display your bridal photos at the wedding, you should plan to do the session no less than three months prior to your wedding day.

Your bridal session includes a two-hour photo session at the location of your choice.

The fitting session is a photography session of either the bride or the groom getting their respective wedding attire fitted. The purpose of this session is to capture those first surreal moments when you realize this is what I’m getting married in. The photographer’s job is to relieve the tension of your parents or friends from picture taking and let them enjoy the moment with you.

Trash the Dress is a relatively new concept here but dress trashing sessions have been going on overseas for a while now. So what is it exactly?

The idea behind trashing the dress is that 99.9% of wedding dresses go into their dry cleaning box and never see the light of day again. Let’s face it, the likelihood of your daughter wearing it is slim and you have photos of it looking glamorous from your wedding to look back on. So why keep it collecting dust and turning yellow in a box? You’re married; you’re in it for the long run, so why not show the ultimate commitment to your husband by trashing the dress!

Despite what the name implies, a trash-the-dress photography session doesn’t necessarily mean destroying the dress; it simply means doing things in your wedding gown that you couldn't do on your wedding day. Some brides choose not to get their dress dirty, a nice walk in the woods, going to the local train tracks, or to their family farm; all the while kicking up their heels and having fun while capturing images that show their sassy and fun side. Yet others choose to unleash a more uninhibited persona by allowing a bit of their dramatic and sexy side to come out. These brides go for a swim in the local lake or the ocean, they play around on some of the farm equipment, and they get down and dirty walking around town or show a little leg while riding their favorite horse around. There is no limit!

This is a great way for brides (or women in general!) to wear their dresses again and create images that are memorable & out of the ordinary. It’s entirely the bride’s choice as to how far she wants to go to trash her dress - whether it’s just getting the hem dirty & her dress dusty while in an abandoned warehouse or whether she chooses to totally trash her dress in a riverbed, we’re willing to be there to take those shots. Most dresses are put into a plastic bag and are stored away, forgotten. How many of us have daughter's who will want to wear a dress that has been out of style for 30 years? Not very many! A Trash The Dress session is an excellent way to make full use of the dress you chose, and a great way to get completely unique, truly artistic images that will WOW your husband and provide you with a once in a lifetime experience. Let your inner DIVA shine through!

These sessions are not just for the newly married woman. Been married for a few years? Want to spice up your memories with some fun, sassy and sexy images? Get that dress out of storage and let's do it! And, if you truly do not want to trash your wedding dress, why not check around for a simple inexpensive white gown, perhaps from a second hand store, and get some material for a quick full length veil at a local fabric store? And OH YES! Consider an unusual color for your heels! Why not HOT PINK or SENSUOUS RED? After all, this session is truly about the inner DIVA you are!
